    Chinese yard to build standby vessels

    Wuhu Shipyard in China has been awarded a contract to build four standby vessels for China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC).

    The contract is thought to cover two 6,500hp vessels for CNOOC Southern and two 8,000hp vessels for CNOOC Northern.

    All of the vessels are due to be delivered in 2003.
