    Husky announces hearings for White Rose

    Husky Oil Operations Limited, operator of the White Rose oilfield, says the Commissioner of the White Rose Development Application has begun public hearings.

    "We think this project will be good for Newfoundland and Labrador and for the future of the oil and gas industry here," says Jamie Blair, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Blair went on to say that, "Husky is looking forward to the public review of the White Rose project. We have workedhard to prepare a comprehensive development application and we welcome the opportunity to discuss our plans in detail with the Commissioner and the general public."

    The hearings are being conducted by the Commissioner appointed by the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board to review the White Rose Development Application. Husky hopes to gain regulatory approval by the fourth quarter of 2001, for the development of the field using a floating production, Storage and off-loading system.
