    North Sea update

    Contracts, Tenders and Rates // May 13, 2002
    Offshore Shipbrokers Ltd (OSL) in Aberdeen reports that April saw a fluctuating market in the North Sea, however in the last week rates suddenly jumped to the 'high teens' for rig moving.

    OSL reports that Tor Viking has been contracted to Enterprise Oil in support of both its North Sea and Irish wells.

    Petrobras has awarded the first of their long term newbuilding contracts to Brazil Offshore Services (Farstad / Petroserv JV) for eight years - further contracts are to follow and will be announced over the coming weeks.

    OSL says one interesting fixture in Brazil is that of the Guardsman which is currently in the North Sea. The vessel has been awarded a thirty five day contract with Kerr McGee supporting the drillship Navis 1.

    The charterer will pay mobilisation and demobilisation costs from the North Sea.

    OSL says the newbuilding Boa Giant will deliver shortly from its builders in China and will head for the Caribbean for work with Aker.

    Oil Traveller has departed to West Africa in support of the Saipem 2000 whilst Maliviya 18 which is due for delivery in May has been awarded a contract by ONGC where she will replace the Maersk Feeder.
