    Hornbeck-Leevac embarks on newbuilding programme

    News // April 26, 2002
Hornbeck-Leevac Marine Services has announced that its Board of Directors has approved a new vessel construction programme for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hornbeck Offshore Services, this being the company's third such programme in five year.

The company says its plan is to build eight deep water OSVs, and says construction of four 240ft DP-2 Class vessels will commence as soon as a definitive agreement has been signed with the selected shipyard.

The company says it has signed a letter of intent for the first four vessels with one of the shipyards currently constructing vessels for Hornbeck.

All of the initial four vessels are expected to be delivered by the end of 2003, with the first vessel due in June 2003.

Hornbeck-Leevac is currently seeking price bids from shipyards for the last four vessels.
