    North Sea market tightens

    Contracts, Tenders and Rates // March 15, 2002
    Offshore Shipbrokers Ltd reports that a number of recent fixtures have significantly tightened the market for anchor handlers in the North Sea, with few AHTS expected to be available in Aberdeen.

    Recent fixtures include Veba fixing both the Toisa Leopard and Guardsman for cargo runs, Team fixing the Statesman for a cargo run at 4,500, ASCOFixing the Sable Sea for a cargo run at 9,000 and the Havila Crown wasfixed by BP for the S F Monitor rig move at 27,000.

    ASCO also fixed the Atrek on private terms for a cargo run.

    Norsk Hydro has entered the market for the Polar Pioneer rig move, which was due to start 15th March in Mongstad.

    Marginal weather is still affecting all North Sea operations, and the spot market is expected to remain tight whilst conditions persist.
