Buoyant Jaya Holdings to invest in more newbuilds

    News // March 15, 2002
Jaya Holdings in Singapore has unveiled more details of the major newbuilding programme on which it has embarked that could ultimately see it acquire more than 20 new vessels as part of an investment worth more than $150 million.

Jaya says it plans to acquire a total of 10 anchor handlers, a quintet of new platform supply vessels, and a handful of new tugs. Some of the vessels have already been ordered, and others are expected to be ordered shortly to replace older tonnage.

The Jaya Holdings group is a shipowner and shipbuilder, so its own yards are likely to benefit from the continued investment in offshore newbuildings.
