    CNOOC orders FPSO from China

    CNOOC has signed a contract with the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) to build a Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessels with 150,000t storage capacity. The FPSO would be equipped with main five 7,500kW engines and will be capable of handling 4.5 million tons of crude oil a year.

    The FPSO will be used for the Fanyu Oilfield.

    Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company Ltd, a subsidiary of CSSC, will build the vessel.

    It is due to be delivered in 2003.
