    Terra Nova about to start production

    The massive Terra Nova development effort offshore Canada is expected to come on stream at the end of January 2002.

    Offshore commissioning has now been completed and hydrocarbons will be introduced to the platform (an FPSO) shortly.

    Terra Nova is located on the Grand Banks of the North Atlantic, 217 miles southeast of St John's and has reserves of around 370 million barrels.

    The partners in the field are: Petro-Canada with 34 per cent, ExxonMobil with 22 per cent, Husky Energy with 12.5 per cent, Norsk Hydro with 15 per cent, Murphy Oil with 12 per cent, Mosbacher Operating Company with 3.5 per cent and ChevronTexaco, with the remaining 01 per cent.
