    HBG builds offshore platform for Clyde Petroleum

    Oil company Clyde Petroleum Exploratie bv, based in The Hague, has awarded HBG Steel Structures a contract to construct an offshore gas production platform. The contract value is 15 million.

    The offshore platform consists of a 40m high steel jacket, a 23m high topside and living quarters. The total weight, including helideck and vent stack, is approximately 3,000 tonnes.

    The gas production platform will be unmanned. The living quarter can accommodate14 service employees.

    HBG Steel Structures will deliver the platform, with a capacity of 4.8 million m gas per day, in July 2003. The platform will be installed in block Q4C of the Dutch Continental Shelf approximately 40km north-west of IJmuiden.

    HBG Steel Structures is a subsidiary of HBG, Hollandsche Beton Groep nv.
