    Future tie-ins to Heidrun?

    News // November 22, 2002
Statoil, operator of the Heidrun field in the North Sea, has asked classification society DNV to document the possibility of including future tie-ins of new fields to the Heidrun platform. The conclusion so far is that the platform is well positioned toinclude tie-ins.

A future module was accounted for in Heidrun's original design. DNV's assignment is to document possible topside weight reserves and to identify platform modifications that will allow for an increase in the weight reserves.

The documentation will be at a detail design level and will be an important decision-making document for the Heidrun field owners and other field owners in the area that could develop new fields as tie-ins to Heidrun.
