High level support for Asian Shipping/Workboat World Asia 2003

    News // November 8, 2002
Major local industry associations, the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI) and the Association of Marine Industries of Malaysia (AMIM) have agreed to be listed as supporters of the Asian Shipping/Work Boat World Asia Conference and Exhibition.

To be held at Suntec Singapore from February 18 - 20, 2002, Asian Shipping/Work Boat World Asia will be South-East Asia's only major maritime event in 2003. It is aimed at owners and operators of all shapes and sizes of commercial, government and military vessels and at port managers.

"Following our very successful Work Boat World Asia events held in Singapore in 1999 and 2001, we have widened our scope to incorporate cargo ships and warships of all sizes as well as port activity," said Neil Baird, Chairman of the organising company,Baird Publications.

"All the various sectors of the maritime industry have so much in common that this expanded focus was a simply logical move," Mr Baird said.

"We are delighted to again have ASMI aboard as they were very welcome supporters of the two previous events. The fact the AMIM are also now a supporter is particularly gratifying. They are also a very important regional organisation," Mr Baird concluded.
