    Bonga FPSO arrives in the UK

    The Bonga FPSO has arrived in the UK for installation of its topsides at AMEC on Tyneside.

    The FPSO was built for Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company Limited. Shell's Bonga Field development is being developed using the FPSO, which is designed to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and has a storage capacity of 2 million barrels.

    AMEC will manage the engineering design, fabrication, integration and commissioning of the 17,000 tonnes of complex topside production facilities.

    At 300,000dwt and with a storage capacity of 2 million barrels of crude oil the Bonga FPSO will be one of the largest in the world.
