Gulf Offshore to supply multi-function vessel for Bijupira and Salema fields

Gulf Offshore have won a contract from Enterprise/Shell Brazil for a multifunction supportvessel to be stationed on the Bijupira and Salema fields.Gulf have placed a $24 million order with Estaleiro Promar yard in Brazil for a DP UT 719 IIAHTS to cover the contract, which is for five years.
The newbuild is not scheduled for delivery until the third quarter of 2004, and as the contract commences mid 2003, Gulf will have to provide a front runner vessel.
The vessel will provide FPSO support/ROV inspection duties and general cargo support duties.
Gulf had previously placed an order for a UT 755L with the yard but will now change that order for this UT 719 Mark II.
