Maersk rumoured to have won BP contract

    News // August 30, 2002
Although there has been no formal announcement, Offshore Shipbrokers says there is continued speculation that Maersk have been awarded the BP contract for up to five PSVs.

This would be in keeping with this owner's recent strategy of securing term charters for its UT745 vessels rather than being exposed to the spot market.

There is also increasing speculation as to how this will affect Asco's business as a number of their term vessels are currently serving BP's requirements.
