    Long excursion tethers expand Oceaneering ROV capabilities

    Oceaneering says enhancing its ROV capabilities in deepwater subsea operations using new, long excursion tethers that combine fiber optics and power in lengths of over 4,000ft.

    The company said the subsea deployment cage for its ROVs has a tether management system that smoothly and efficiently handles tether payout and uptake.

    The Hydra(r) Magnum Long Excursion System eliminates the need for chase vessel support and reduces costs as a result. One Customer utilized the system to perform pipeline touchdown monitoring work including relocating prelaid measurement beacons.
