Subsea 7 wins trio of contracts

    News // June 20, 2003
Subsea 7 Norway has secured three contract awards in the North Sea with a combined value in the region of $42 million.

In its role as an exclusive subcontractor to Allseas, Subsea 7 has been awarded an EPIC (engineering, procurement, installation and construction) contract for subsea installation work in the Southern North Sea.

The second award, from Statoil, is for the engineering, procurement and installation of risers, flowlines and umbilical for the Glitne Field Extension Project which is located in the Sleipner area of the North Sea in a water depth of approximately 110m.

The project, which is due to commence early summer 2003 with offshore work being completed by September, will be performed under the Stolt Subsea 7 JV frame agreement with Statoil.

Subsea 7 has also received a contract award from BP Exploration, Norway for the installation of a 4D seismic system as part of the Life of Field Seismic system in the Vallhall area of the North Sea.

This will provide 4D reservoir surveillance for optimal placement of producing and injecting wells and will involve the installation of four subsea structures on the seabed, connected by umbilical cables to the Valhall IP platform.

The programme is due to commence early May with completion late summer 2003 and it is proposed to utilise one of Subsea 7's construction support vessels in addition to pipelay vessel Fennica.
