IHC Caland wins series of new contracts

    News // June 20, 2003
IHC Caland has announced a series of recent successes for its offshore oil and gas activities.

    They include:

A two-year extension of the lease and operate contract with SEICL of the P.A. Sakhalin FSO on Shell Sakhalin II field in Russia. The time charter is now to continue until year-end 2005.

A letter of intent for a one-year extension of the lease and operate contract with Petrobras of the Roncador FPSO in Brazil. The time charter will now continue until May 2009.

Three CALM buoy supply (and related) contracts for Nexen Yemen, ChevronTexaco Angola and Conoco Phillips U.K.

A letter of intent for an ultra-deepwater CALM buoy for a major oil company, as part of a large field development in West Africa.

A contract for the supply of another ultra-deepwater CALM buoy from Saipem, for the Kizomba B field development, Block 15 offshore Angola for ExxonMobil.

A letter of intent from Woodside for the supply of a disconnectable riser turret mooring for the FPSO to be installed as part of the development of Enfield off North West Cape, Australia. This turret is similar to the disconnectable system installed on the FPSO Cossack Pioneer in 1995, a complex but now proven system that has worked quite successfully since the first day of its operation. The Enfield turret is larger and can accommodate 13 risers in deep water (600m); it will be fitted on the client's 150,000-dwt FPSO. The disconnectability allows the FPSO to sail away under typhoon conditions and reconnect without heavy assistance needs.
