    Finnish yard delivers icebreaking standby vessel

    Arctech Helsinki Shipyard in Finland recently delivered a multifunction icebreaking standby vessel for Sovcomflot for the Sahalin-2 project.

    The vessel is the second from four ordered by SCF Group. The first vessel was delivered at the end of January 2017.

    The vessel, Stepan Makarov, has a deadweight of 3,300 tonnes. Its main role is to support Sakhalin-2 project in the Sea of Okhotsk.

    The ice class 6 vessel is 104.2m long with a maximum beam of 21m, draught of 7.9m and speed of 16.8 knoys.
