Bourbon completes Floatgen mooring installationProjects and Operations // July 27, 2017
Bourbon has completed the installation of mooring s for the first floating offshore wind turbine in France on behalf of Ecole Centrale de Nantes (ECN) as part of the Floatgen project.
The moorings were installed at the SEM- REV experimental test site off Le Croisic.
The innovative mooring system, which uses synthetic mooring lines, was designed and developed by IDEOL.
Significant resources, including an anchor handling tug supply vessel with a work-class ROV, were required for the project.
Bourbon was responsible for the engineering, preparation and the execution of the project.
