Workships Contractors sells DSVVessel & ROV News // June 23, 2017
Workships Contractors, as managers of the four-point mooring DSV Offshore Beaver has announced that the vessel has been sold to Seisund AS of Torangsvag, Norway.
The vessel will transfer from her normal role of diving support to working in the Norwegian aquaculture industry.
Workships Contractors has managed the vessel since 2014, obtaining contracts in nearshore projects in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark doing diving, salvage and ROV support.
Edvard Bakke of Seisund said: "With regulatory changes coming into the farmed salmon industry, we were looking for a suitable vessel to allow us to respond to the changes and maintain our leading position in the industry.
The vessel will be renamed Seisund and will join the eight other vessels in our fleet.
Philip Woodcock, General Manager of Workships Contractors, said: "My technical manager, Sicco Ritsma, was contacted by Marien Kraak of Martrade BV to see if he could inspect the vessel.
"Mr Kraak had acted as the broker when the vessel was purchased from Boskalis in 2014 and knew Sicco well. Workships is a ship manager and project developer who specialises in finding opportunities for adding value to vessel owners in all stages of the market cycle and thus when presented with an chance to do a deal with Mr Bakke, it made sense.
“Workships will continue to develop opportunities to serve our clients and investors,” Mr Woodcock concluded.
