SHIPEC 2003: new business forum for shipbuilding/ship repair industryNews // April 11, 2003
In a recent statement, Mclean Events and the MPI Group said SHIPEC 2003 would be "a meeting forum targeted at major international shipowners and supplier companies."
Shipowners are invited to the forum as guests of the organisers and, meeting in 5 Star facilities away from the distractions of the office, are able to talk business in a more focused fashion with suppliers to the industry.
At SHIPEC 2003 there are no exhibition stands to walk around, all meetings last 20 minutes and are held at meetings points designated to each shipowner over the two days of the forum. Shipowners choose the suppliers they wish to meet from an event directory produced prior to the event and a personalised meeting schedule is then drawn up for each company.
The event will kick off with a debate on the industry conducted by leading industry figureheads. The debate will cover some of the key issues affecting the marketplace.
Following the business meetings there will be an organised programme of activities allowing delegates to network in a more informal way. There will also be an industry dinner each evening starting with a welcome reception and buffet dinner on arrival followed by an evening out on the second night and finally a farewell dinner at the hotel on the last night.
