Boskalis reduces shareholding in FugroCompany News // December 6, 2016
Royal Boskalis Westminster has confirmed that it has reduced its holding in Fugro NV to 24.9 per cent.
In March 2015 Boskalis increased its holding in Fugro to 25.1 per cent. The company said at the time that this was not a step towards making an offer and Boskalis purely "viewed Fugro as an interesting company with strong market positions in its core activities."
Earlier in 2016, however, it challenged the future independence of Fugro when it sought to overturn measures designed to protect its independence.
In June 2016, the Court of Appeal in The Hague dismissed attempts by shareholdes in Boskalis to force a vote against one of Fugro’s three measures protecting it from a hostile takeover.
