Aker Kvaerner wins Snorre maintenance contract

    News // March 28, 2003
A four-year contract worth NOK 400 million for maintenance on the two Statoil-operated Snorre platforms in the Norwegian North Sea has been awarded to Aker Kværner.

Aker Offshore Partner has primary responsibility for this work, which is due to start on 1 July. About 150 people will be involved.

The Snorre contract is a frame agreement covering maintenance and modifications on the two installations.

Statoil placed similar contracts for its existing platforms in the Tampen area of the North Sea - which also embraces Snorre - with Aker Kværner last year.

The group took over as operator on Snorre from Norsk Hydro on 01 January.
