NorSea establishes offshore wind company in DenmarkCompany News // August 31, 2016
NorSea Group has set up an offshore wind company in Denmark. The new company is called NSG Wind A/S. It can deliver the full range of offshore wind industry services and has already won contracts in several countries, including Denmark, Germany, UK and Taiwan.
"European offshore wind markets continue to grow and the markets in Asia and North America are mushrooming. There is therefore a growing need for the palette of services the NorSea Group has built over the past 50 years, including seabed investigation, transport cable inspection, onshore and offshore logistics, installation, service and maintenance – as well as specially designed vessels and other offshore equipment. Given the market situation, staking on offshore wind is an obvious step for us to take,” said CEO of NorSea Group, John E Stangeland.
The Danish offshore company will ensure that the group can develop and provide services for offshore wind customers – among them, operators, wind turbine manufacturers and sub-suppliers.
Earlier this year, NorSea Group appointed the former COO of Apro Wind and Director of Offshoreenergy.dk, Morten Basse, as CEO of NSG Wind. "Via its subsidiary company, ØER A/S, NSG Wind already has several large clients in Denmark, Germany and the UK," said Mr Basse. "In partnership with the Taiwanese authorities, we are working on a port development project and are in the process of establishing a joint venture company with a local partner. We have also signed agreements on the US and Canadian markets. We have not turned our backs on the Danish market, and have two major offshore windfarm projects in the pipeline."
