Maersk Puncher and Maersk Provider soldVessel & ROV News // August 30, 2016
As part of Maersk Supply Service’s recently announced divestment plans, Maersk Puncher and Maersk Provider have been sold.
Maersk Supply Service is reducing its fleet by up to 20 vessels over the coming 18 months. The divestment plan is a response to vessels in lay-up, limited trading opportunities and the global over-supply of offshore supply vessels in the industry.
Maersk Puncher and Maersk Provider were officially delivered to their new owners, Karadeniz Energy Group based in Istanbul, on 23rd August, 2016. Both vessels will be modified by their new owners and will no longer compete in the OSV segment. Maersk Puncher and Maersk Provider are both anchor handers.
With Maersk Finder, Maersk Puncher and Maersk Provider sold, the Maersk Supply Service fleet now stands at 54 vessels.
