IOGP publishes recommended practice for diving operationsPublications // April 25, 2016
The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) has published recommended practice for diving in the offshore oil and gas sector.
"Before sending any divers beneath the surface, a responsible company wants to know that any proposed contractor system in place will work safely in line with existing industry standards," said the IOGP.
"To help provide that confidence, IOGP recently published Diving System Assurance recommended practice (Report
468). This gives a clear understanding of client expectations and also focuses on the actual process of assurance
monitoring. The recommended practices enable companies to assess a diving system before awarding any contract
and then to follow-up with annual reviews once a contract is in place."
