A&P Group secures MPI Offshore projectYard News // April 22, 2016
A&P Group’s Tyne yard in the UK has continued its push into the offshore renewables market and recently secured a maintenance and repair contract for MPI Offshore’s turbine installation vessel MPI Adventure.
The vessel docked at A&P Group’s Hebburn yard in March for a two-week programme of works. A&P Group is already well known for the work it does on offshore vessels in the oil and gas sector.
The ship was docked in order to undergo specialist repair work including inspection and repair of three azimuthing thrusters and three tunnel thrusters, installation of new log and echo sounder transducers, a new main sea water isolation valve and the fabrication and fitting of internal access ladders and platforms to allow fuel oil tanks to be viewed.
