Saltwater Engineering responsible for design of SOVVessel & ROV News // April 12, 2016
Saltwater Engineering has designed a new purpose-built SOV for the offshore wind market, having been contracted by Offshore Marine Management and Rederij Groen, which formed a partnership to bring a new O&M vessel to the market.
Broker Seabrokers said the SOV design can deliver both topside preventative maintenance services and subsea cable repair, with accommodation for a total of 60 persons, a heave compensated deck crane, two daughter craft
and workshops to provide service of the in-built diving spread equipment and the in-built ROV control and personnel.
It will also have the ability to carry more than 10 containers for spares and supplies to potential offshore accommodation stations. The new SOV is due to be delivered in late 2017.
