Broker Seabrokers says Simon Møkster Shipping has accepted delivery of the newbuild PSV Stril Mar from the Astilleros Gondán Shipyard in northern Spain.
The UT 776 WP PSV is of the same design as Stril Luna, but Stril Mar also comes with a FiFi II system with monitors installed at the stern.
Stril Mar has a length of 92.8m, breadth of 20.0m and deck area of 1,030m². She has a deadweight of 5,000t and
accommodation for 25 persons. The vessel can operate in harsh environments, with Winterization and Ice 1C notations. She is also classed as a standby vessel, equipped to rescue up to 150 survivors in the event of an emergency.
Stril Mar has been mobilised to Norway. Her maiden work scope was to replace another Møkster vessel, Strilmøy, supporting ExxonMobil for a couple of weeks. She has also been awarded a term charter to provide supply and standby support to Eni in the Barents Sea from June 2016.
