    After a few quiet months on the newbuild front several owners have been tempted intoplacing orders for new tonnage, reported Seabrokers in its newsletter Seabreeze.

    Havila has ordered two UT745 LEs with 50 man accommodation from Langsten, whilst Surf will build two UT755Ls at Aker Brattvaag with delivery January and March 2004.

    Toisa has purchased the UT736 Fresnel from French Telecom. The cable laying equipment has been removed and it is anticipated the vessel will be marketed toward the subsea construction and well intervention market.

    Seacor has sold the UT734 AHTS Stirling Sirius (9,000bhp) to Hua Wei for an undisclosed sum. The vessel has already delivered to new owners in Far East and has been renamed Hua Shun.

    Seabulk Offshore has purchased Secunda's UT755L which is currently under construction atSimek with a delivery in early January 2003. The vessel has been renamed Seabulk Africa (see elsewhere in this issue of OSO) and will initially trade the spot market from Aberdeen.
