New cranes for Port of Cromarty Firth Services

    Company News // February 2, 2016

Port of Cromarty Firth Services Ltd has invested more than £1 million in the purchase of two new cranes.
The 90 tonne and the 130 tonne Liebherr mobile cranes will allow the company to provide a dedicated service to better meet customer needs.  These cranes will provide efficient lifting solutions to customers at the Invergordon Service Base. The investment in the future of the port has ensured the creation of three new positions. This has taken the total number of staff employed by the company to 16.

Martin Brayshaw, Managing Director, Port of Cromarty Firth Services Ltd, said: “It was important to invest in these cranes to ensure our customers can receive a comprehensive range of in-house services.  We will now be able to react immediately to the crane and lifting requirements of the vessels and oil rigs that visit the Firth. Purchasing these cranes will not only help to service our customers in oil and gas, they will also be used within the renewables sector and will be available for use throughout the Highland region.”

He added: “As a company that is dedicated to employee development, we are really pleased that we have been able to offer a current staff member specialist training so he can work with the cranes, as well as taking on two new employees.”
