Havyard confirms deal for design of service operation vessel

    Vessel & ROV News // December 9, 2015

Havyard Design & Solutions has confirmed that it has signed a contract for the delivery of a design and equipment package to Cemre Shipyard in Turkey. The yard is going to build a Havyard 831 service operation vessel or 'SOV' for Esvagt. The vessel will be delivered in 2017 and will be contracted by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.

The Havyard 831 SOV design was developed in close cooperation between Havyard Design & Solutions and Esvagt. Havyard designed and built the first windfarm service vessel for Esvagt in 2013. The ships in question were of the Havyard 832 SOV type, and were delivered by Havyard Ship Technology's shipyard in Leirvik in Sogn during the first quarter this year. The shipyard has an order for another such design for Esvagt, which is scheduled for delivery in September 2016.

The Havyard 831 SOV wil be 58.5m in length with a breadth of 16.6m, speed of 12 knots and accommodation for 36 people.
