Esvagt to build SOV for MHI Vestas contract

    Vessel & ROV News // December 8, 2015

Esvagt is to build another new vessel to support MHI Vestas Offshore Wind technicians maintaining turbines off the Belgian coast. The company has signed a 10-year contract with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind for a service operation vessel (SOV) for the Nobelwind project.

Esvagt has commissioned the design of the vessel from Havyard in Norway, which is due to enter service in the second half of 2017.

The new vessel, to be built at Cemre Shipyard in Turkey, will be 58.5m in length with a beam of 16.6m and be able to support up to 22 technicians in single cabins.

It will be equipped with Esvagt's safe transfer boats  to transfer technicians, tools and spare parts to turbines.
