Viking Supply Ships lays up another vessel - implements further cost savings

    Company News // November 3, 2015

Viking Supply Ships has confirmed that, as a result of the poor market conditions in the market for anchor handling tug/supply(AHTS) vessels, it has decided to lay up Odin Viking with immediate effect. The company said it plans to consult with employees and unions in order to assess the crewing situation going forward in order to try to minimize the number of lay-offs.

Viking Supply Ships has also implemented a cost reduction programme, aiming to reduce annual operating costs by NKr 45 million. As a response to the weak market, the company said it also plans to make further cust, in order to save NKr 70 million per annum.
