    Changes at the top at SPO - Glenn departs for Cathay Pacific Europe

    Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) has appointed a new Managing Director and amde a number of other appointments.

    Ron Mathison has taken over the helm as the new Managing Director. Mr Mathison has also been appointed as the Director of John Swire & Sons (SE Asia) Pte Ltd.

    Mr Mathison embarked on his career with John Swire & Sons Limited when he joined Cathay Pacific Airways in 1984 and has more than 30 years of experience within various divisions of the Swire Group. Prior to his new appointment in SPO, he was the Group Managing Director of James Finlay Ltd in UK for the last seven years. Before that, from 2004 to 2008, he was the Director of Cargo in Cathay Pacific Airways. Mr Mathison was previously the Director and General Manager of Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes Ltd and held a number of other senior management positions in the airline in various countries around the world.

    Neil Glenn, the outgoing Managing Director, stepped down from his role as Managing Director of SPO on 18 September 2015. He has also relinquished his position as Director of the SPO Board. During his years with SPO, Mr Glenn was an active member of the Singapore maritime community and has served as the Chairman of the Offshore Services Committee ofthe Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) since 2011.

    Mr Glenn will be moving on to be General Manager, Europe for Cathay Pacific Airways. SPO’s Finance Director, Mr Nigel Gribble, has also stepped down from his role to undertake the role of Chief Financial Officer in Altus Oil & Gas Services, a fully owned subsidiary of SPO in August. He is succeeded by Mr Amyon Chaffey, who was with Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, and was the Finance Director of The China Navigation Co Ltd prior to that.

    SPO’s Operations Director, Ian Offland, has been re-designated as Safety and Marine Assurance Director. There will also be new additions to his team, including Christopher Bowden as Global Head of Marine Manning, Training and Competence Assurance, Grant Michels as Competence Assurance Manager and Stuart Mooney as Operations Manager.
