    Ultra Deep Solutions orders another dive support/construction vessel

    Ultra Deep Group (UDS) has signed another contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry to build a multipurpose dive support/construction vessel, to be named Ultra Deep Installer.

    The vessel, which is based on the design 'Red Class 6027' DSCV developed for Ultra Deep by Marin Teknikk in Norway, is a DP3, 142m multipurpose subsea diving support/construction vessel. it is due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2018 and is the largest of the vessels the company has on order.

    The new Uvessel will have Flash Tekk’s 24-man twin bell saturation dive system. It will also have a reinforced moonpool and be equipped with twin 24-man SPHL and 400 VLT.

    The vessel will also have two 250hp Work-class ROVs rated to 3,000m working depth, installed in ROV hangers.

    In addition, it will have a 400 tonne crane which will be capable of working to a depth  of 5,200m single fall and 3,200m dual fall.

    The vessel’s 1,500m² open deck space and deck strength 10 ton m² will enable it to work on a wide range of projects.
