    News // July 20, 2015

Per Aarsleff has been selected by Frederikshavn Havn A/S to undertake an expansion of the Port of Frederishavn in Denmark. The contract is expected to have a total value of DKK 500-600 million.

Aarsleff is to carry out the project as a turnkey contract with VG Entreprenør and Rohde Nielsen as subcontractors and Grontmij as consulting engineer.

The Port of Frederikshavn wants to enlarge and improve its facilities and develop business in the offshore oil and gas, offshore wind and decommissioning industries, along with environmentally friendly decommissioning of ships and oil rigs.

Aarsleff is to build a 600m quay designed to accommodate high loads, a 30-hectare hinterland area and extend and deepen the fairway to a depth of 12m.

Geotechnical site investigations and design work will begin in August 2015; the execution phase of the project will begin in 2016 and it is due to be completed in the spring of 2018.
