RentOcean does deal with Mubarak Marine for turntablesCompany News // May 19, 2015
RentOceanís two 4,000 tonne demountable turntables have completed a transportation job on board Hanjin Pioneer, carrying 4 x 50km of power cable from the LS Cable factory in Donghae to Ras Laffan in Qatar.
RentOcean has appointed Dubai Ship Building (DSB) for the demobilization of both systems from Hanjin Pioneer in Dubai. In addition, DSB will take care of the reinstatement of the vessel for LS Cable.
RentOcean has also announced that it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Mubarak Marine Dubai for the rental of cable storage, turntables, tensioners and additional cable equipment from Mubarakís facility in Dubai.
Mubarakís and RentOceanís intention is to offer clients a range of services comprising engineering, cable lay equipment, cable storage, cable handling, and cable transport.
"RentOcean is going to store its 2,000/4,000 tonne demountable turntable at Mubarakís facility," the company said. "The system will be available for offshore cable and flexible pipe laying and onshore cable storage."
The modular turntable can be delivered to the required mobilization site in 40ft containers. As a result the equipment is sea and road transportable and can be mobilized to any port in a cost-effective manner. All system components are 'plug and play' and interchangeable.
The 4,000 tonne turntable is built in such a way that it can be 'upsized' and 'downsized' to the required load capacity turntable in a short period of time.
