Mojo Maritime acquired by James Fisher

    Company News // May 14, 2015

James Fisher and Sons plc has completed the acquisition of Mojo Maritime, the specialist provider of project management, engineering and consultancy services to the offshore industry.

Mojo Maritime is a specialist provider of consultancy and design services in the offshore renewable energy sector. Founded in Falmouth ten years ago by Richard Parkinson CEO, the company has focused on consultancy services, marine operations, engineering and research and development.

The company has been involved in foundation design, installation methodology and project planning as well as design and development of products aimed at reducing risk and cost of working offshore, some of which have been protected. These include: a high performance dynamic positioning vessel concept for offshore energy construction and maintenance (HF4); specialist economic and risk evaluation software (Mermaid); cable routing and stability analysis software (Cast); and collaboration with leading Norwegian manufacturer IKM Subsea to develop a ROV capable of operating in high tidal flows.

Nick Henry, Chief Executive Officer of James Fisher, said: “The acquisition of Mojo will strengthen our expertise and abilities in servicing the offshore renewables sector. We are delighted to welcome Richard and his team to our group”

Mojo Maritime has cooperated on a number of projects with group companies to date and currently has a sub-contract with James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) under which they are working closely together on the construction phase of the MeyGen Inner Sound tidal project.

Richard Parkinson, CEO of Mojo Maritime, said: "We are delighted to be joining James Fisher, the teams from both sides having worked incredibly well together in recent collaborations. Being part of the group means that Mojo is able to undertake larger and more complex marine projects and can leverage the capabilities of the wider James Fisher organisation.”
