Tribunal orders Ghana not to drill in disputed waters

    News // May 14, 2015

An international tribunal has ordered Ghana not to start any new offshore drilling in waters disputed by Cote d’Ivoire.

However, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea will allow Ghana to continue developing current oilfields, including the Ten fields, which UK firm Tullow Oil has a significant stake in.

Broker Chart Shipping said the Presidents of the two countries reached a deal on the dispute in April.
