Farstad sells one and puts two into layup

    Vessel & ROV News // May 8, 2015

Farstad Shipping has, through its wholly owned subsidiary Farstad Marine AS, sold the PSV Far Superior (1990, UT 705 L, 3,796 dwt).
Delivery of the vessel to the new owner took place on 7 May 2015.
Farstad Shipping has also announced that it has laid up the PSVs Far Server and Far Spica due to what it described as "a continued weak offshore market." The company also has to give notice to employees.
"We are currently experiencing a very demanding offshore market. Consequently, we have to lay up two vessels and give notice to competent employees. We regret this. Our focus onward is to secure new contracts for our crews and vessels," said Karl-Johan Bakken, CEO of Farstad Shipping.
A total of 35 offshore employees have been laid off. Farstad Shipping now has three vessels laid up.
