Norshore provides update on Norshore Atlantic

    Company News // January 7, 2015

Norshore says its well intervention/tophole drilling vessel Norshore Atlantic has been working for Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Ltd on the Malikai field in Malaysia since September 2014.

The scope of work for this contract is drilling of top-holes. The first part of the work at Malikai has been to install conductors, the top section of the wells.

All 24 conductors had been installed by the end of December. In addition, five of the intermediate sections were completed by end December.

"Shell has informed us that they plan to complete a total of seven intermediate sections under this contract," said Norshore. "The intermediate sections are 17-1/2in hole diameter, drilling depth typically 3,500-3,700ft and hole deviation from vertical as much as 45-50 degrees. We expect that the scope of work under the Malikai contract will be completed during the first half of January 2015."

The HSE performance and progress of the work during December has been good.
Norshore Atlantic has been performing well technically. The economic uptime of the vessel for the month of December was 94 per cent.

Norshore is still in discussions with several oil companies as well as participating in ongoing tenders for work commencing after Atlantic has completed the contract for Shell.
