Van Oord starts work on Shell pipelay gig

    Projects and Operations // December 10, 2014

Broker Westshore reports that Van Oord recently won a contract from Shell to replace a dual oil export pipeline off Gabon.

The Dutch contractor will use its shallow-water pipelay barge Stingray to replace an existing 30-inch, 10-kilometre dual pipeline running from Gamba terminal 200km south of Port Gentil to a pipeline end manifold.

The job was due to start around the end of November and run until summer 2015.
