Niestern Sander shipyard launches walk-to-work vesselYard News // October 13, 2014
On 6 October Niestern Sander shipyard in The Netherlands launched Wagenborg's 'walk-to-work' vessel.
The vessel will support maintenance and service activity in the southern North sea on behalf of NAM/Shell UK for the next 10 years.
The new design, which will provide accommodation for up to 60 people has been designed to provide a workspace, storage, 'hotel' and a means of transport to and from offshore platforms.
The DP2 vessel will be equipped with a motion compensated offshore access system and deck crane, a package of ‘start-up’ and intervention equipment, has a deck area of 500m2. The vessel is due to be delivered in February 2015.
