Marine seismic specialist says Polarcus Adira is in transit from Las Palmas to the Gulf of Mexico to commence a six month charter for TGS.
Commenting on the charter, Rolf Ronningen, CEO Polarcus of said: "This will be our first project in the US; the first of many we anticipate in the years ahead.
"We are especially excited to have this opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities in this important market and we look forward to bringing our unique environmental agenda to the US Gulf and to delivering TGS a very high quality dataset for their multi-client programme."
The survey for TGS will cover an area of 11,500km2 and will involve the vessel towing a large receiver spread comprising multiple solid streamers, each 10km in length, and a specialized source array designed to focus the acoustic energy in a vertical direction.
The programme will image both the regional stratigraphy and deep basin structures in deep water in the Central Gulf of Mexico.
