    FOCAL awarded DP3 design contracts

    Vessel & ROV News // September 15, 2014

Focal Marine & Offshore was recently awarded two design contacts for DP3 vessels - both from new clients.

The first is a FOCAL 527 subsea vessel with length overall of 105m and diesel-electric propulsion. The vessel will be installed with a built-in 15-man SAT diving system for 300m, 150 tonne AHC subsea crane and ROV facilities including chamber for dual working class ROVs. Accommodation is provided for 120 people. The vessel will be built in Mawei Shipyard.

The second design is an accommodation/IMR vessel, a FOCAL 539, for an offshore contractor.

This DP3 vessel has a length overall of 99.8m, single/twin accommodation for 239 person, offshore crane and walk-to-work gangway, as well as provisions for ROV operation. The vessel is classed under LR, with ECO and CAC notation to ensure high standard in environment protection and crew comfort onboard. Two vessels of this type will be built at Xiamen Shipyard.
