    Ultra Deep Solutions orders dive support/construction vessel

    Ultra Deep Solutions has entered into a contract with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) for the construction of a dive support/construction vessel. The contract includes and option for a second vessel.

    The vessel is based on the 'Red Class 6027' MT design DSCV, and is described as a  DP3, 142m long subsea/dive support/ construction vessel. Delivery of the first vessel is planned for early 2017.

    The vessel will be an 18-man twin bell unit and was designed to operate in a water depth of up to 4,000m water. The vessel was designed in collaboration with Marin Teknikk in Norway.

    The vessel will have Unique Hydra’s 18-man twin bell saturation dive system. It will also have a 400 VLT over a reinforced moonpool area. The vessel also has 2 x 250hp work-class ROV designed to work to 3,000m installed in ROV hangers inside the vessel. In addition, it will have a 400 tonne crane which rated to 5,200m single fall and 3,200m dual fall. It will have an open deck of 1,500m² which will be strengthened to 10tonnes/m2.
