Wilson, Sons in Brazil and Damen Shipyards Group have signed a contract for two Damen PSV 5000s. The vessel will be built in Brazil using a Damen design, engineering and material package.
The PSV 5000s are 85m in length with a beam of and 19m and will have diesel-electric propulsion line with DP2 stationkeeping.
The vessels will comply with the requirements of the sixth round of the Programme for the Renovation of the Offshore Support Fleet of Petrobras, including the use of travelling gantry crane for offshore operations. "Future upgrades like bulk handling systems have been taken into account in the design," said Damen.
The vessels will be built at Wilson Sons Guarujá II (SP) and delivered to Wilson, Sons Ultratug, who will operate the vessel on a 6 + 6 year charter contract with Petrobras.
