    Bordelon Marine celebrates 35th anniversary

    Company News // June 23, 2014

Bordelon Marine celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.

Founded in 1979, Bordelon Marine has maintained a family-oriented culture. Wes Bordelon took the helm of Bordelon Marine in 1999 at the end of a cycle of the family business that had seen several periods of growth and decline.

Beginning in 2000 Mr Bordelon implemented a program that ultimately rebuilt the fleet of vessels though newbuilds and acquisitions while simultaneously diversifying and solidifying the company customer base.

Bordelon Marine now operates a fleet of mini-supply vessels along with 260ft DP2 vessels.

Bordelon Marine started a purpose built shipyard in 2011 specifically to build the new deep water Stingray 260ft DP2 series vessels.

The company currently has one Stingray in operation working as a well stimulation vessel for Baker Hughes along with two more Stingray vessels in production with expected delivery dates in the fourth quarter of 2014 and third quarter of 2015.

Bordelon Marine plans to maintain its presence on the shelf while building its fleet of 260ft DP2 vessels to support the deep water markets of the Gulf of Mexico and internationally.
