More Rolls-Royce designs for Island OffshoreVessel & ROV News // May 7, 2014
Rolls-Royce has won a £14 million order to provide design, integrated power and propulsion systems and equipment for two offshore service vessels for the Norwegian shipowner Island Offshore.
In 2011 and 2012 Island Offshore placed orders for four vessels of the same design type, three of which have already been delivered, the most recent delivery being Island Dawn.
The two new vessels on order will be 1.5 meters wider than the previous four.
The UT 717 CDX platform supply vessels will have an overall length of 86m with a beam of 18.5m and a deadweight of approximately 4,200 dwt.
The vessels are to be built at the Vard yard in Brevik, Norway and will be ready for delivery in 2015.
